Signs of Safety – 1 day training event

The one day events will provide greater detail of the Signs of Safety model and are relevant for professionals contributing directly to assessments. The training will give the opportunity to practice some of the principles on the relevant proforma. The one day events will be facilitated by Practice leads in Children’s Social Care. 
 
Aim
To enable professionals to effectively use the Signs of Safety approach to support children, young people and their families at all levels of need.

Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Use the Signs of Safety (SOS) framework
• Map a case
• Write a Danger Statement
• Write a Safety Goal
• Contribute to Safety Plans for children
• Use tools effectively to gather the voice of the child

Target Audience
Those who work predominantly with children and young people and adults who are parents or carers and may be asked to contribute to assessment of children in need and those with a particular responsibility for safeguarding children (Groups 3 -4).
